Card Quest merges nostalgic tile-flipping strategy with robust tactical fantasy deckbuilding, drawing heavy mechanical inspiration from classic Triple Triad rules. As you traverse a sprawling campaign map, you face distinct AI adversaries wielding unique elemental cards and custom rule variants. The art direction emphasizes hand-drawn fairy monsters and arcane battlegrounds, giving every tabletop duel serious visual weight. Success demands more than simply deploying high-value cards; you must constantly analyze directional numeric values, anticipate enemy flanks, and leverage board control to flip hostile cards to your faction before the final turn concludes.

Core Mechanics & Physics

The core gameplay loop centers on a grid-based battle arena where players take turns placing cards from their hand. Each card features four directional rank values mapped to its top, bottom, left, and right edges. When a card is placed adjacent to an opponent's card, your touching edge value is compared against their adjoining edge value. If your rank is strictly higher, that enemy card flips to your color, securing you vital points. Level design scales aggressively across the campaign map, introducing modified rule sets such as "Same," "Plus," and elemental board tiles that dynamically alter card values and force deep strategic pivots.
